Can you get a sore throat from deepthroat?

I was actually curious if it's possible to get a sore throat from deep throating? I did if for the first time and did gag twice bit other wise it all went really well...until the day after when I relized how sore I was, kinda like when you get a cold. Any ways to help ease up the pain a little?
