However, I broke up with my bf and no longer had a sex life but the thrush still came back. I had just assumed that it was caused by my boyfriend because we have sex without a condom regularly so he would have it too, and he didn't treat himself for it so would have reinfect me. I shave my private parts and am beginning to suspect that this has something to do with it. Can the use of shaving foam etc. cause thrush, or not shaving regularly enough and having stubble?

Yes there is a possibility that shaving foam could cause thrush, not actually shaving your private part would have anything to do with it ,some people are alergic to certain toiletries, and its very unlikely you caught it from your previous partner..also taking a course of antibiotics sometimes causes thrush..the best bet is to talk to your G.P and get it ruled out which is causing this reoccurance of thrush.
