writes:I think my bf is overreacting on a simple issue. I ought to have a surgery on my breast in few weeks time. The surgeon is a male. I have no problem with the gender of this surgeon. Surprisingly my bf said he doesn't like the idea of him being a male and would have to see and touch my breasts. I tried to make him understand that the surgeon is a very experienced person and is elderly so he should stop having negative thoughts about him. Is my bf's reaction reasonable? Should I just lie to him that it's gonna be a female surgeon and no longer a male? Is he being too jealous? Thanks

your BF is an idiot. He's beyond OVER-reacting and has progressed to just plain WRONG.
He's not even making sense... this is the surgeon's JOB for god's sake.
I would be very cautious about continuing a relationship with this man... sounds like he has severe insecurity and self-esteem issues that will manifest themselves as jealousy.
Jealousy is NOT about love...it's about insecurity and the fact that he's jealous is NOT cute and does NOT mean he loves you.

 Your boyfriend needs to GET OVER IT. If he loves you, he'd be more interested in getting the best surgeon regardless of gender. A surgery is always a TEAM, not just a surgeon. I had 10 people in the room when I had my kidney transplant. Believe me, it's clinical, under a camera, and couldn't be less sexualized.
He needs to pull his head out of his ass and grow up. Tell him you want the best doctor regardless of gender, and that he needs to get professional help if he has the gall to actually be jealous over a medical procedure.
