A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I used to masturbate very much, and this caused my penis to have some dark spots on it. Because Iam tan, it appeared that the spots are post inflammatory hyperpigmentaion. Iam virgin, but had oral sex couples times before it happened. My question is are girls turned off by this?? any help is really appreciated.

A female reader, Gabrielle Stoker United States +, writes (19 October 2013):

Gabrielle Stoker agony auntThere's no such thing as an ugly penis. But there is such a thing as an unhealthy-looking one, so you may want to see if the spots are related to an infection or something (because I doubt masturbation would be a cause).

A female reader, Tisha-1 United States +, writes (18 October 2013):

Tisha-1 agony auntYou've had oral sex and have some odd spots? Definitely go see your doctor to make sure it's not something that should be dealt with before you are sexually intimate with a woman again.

And just to add to the other aunts's answers, women don't tend to look at penises and think, "oh my god that's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life!" and "I'm going to put up penis posters of all my favorite superstars! There's David Beckham's penis, and Brad Pitt's penis, and George Clooney's penis, and I have a special section for Channing Tatum and Ryan Gosling penis pics." You see? The penis is important to us because the man it's attached to is important to us, not vice versa.

Sorry guys. We know you are very attached to your penises and they mean a lot to you and are very important to your sexuality. They just aren't all that gorgeous, ya know? If they were, "Playgirl" magazine would have a been a major blockbuster and would still be selling copies to women worldwide.

Women see the whole man, not just a bit of him.

I've always assumed that penises vary a lot and so however yours looks would be normal. They all look alike regardless of their differences. Some are just bigger than others.

A female reader, chigirl Norway +, writes (17 October 2013):

chigirl agony auntNo, girls do not care about this. Most girls tend to not find the penis erotic about a man. The penis is a functional thing, not a thing to be admired. Women are far more occupied drooling over your biceps. If you have muscles a woman wouldn't care if your penis was rainbow coloured.

It's like asking if a man is turned off by the colour of a womans nipples... Are you? Generally, no. As long as they get to cup a feel they're happy.

A female reader, Aunty Babbit United Kingdom +, writes (17 October 2013):

Aunty Babbit agony auntI'm not overly convinced masturbation was the cause of this condition, more obvious cause would be acne, eczema or psoriasis.

It's well worth seeing your doctor (if you haven't) because there are treatments available that can reduce the pigmentation. It's worth noting that the dark spots usually fade in time anyway.

I honestly don't think that girls will find this a turn off, it's only a skin colour change after all.

I hope this helps AB x

A female reader, Honeypie United States +, writes (17 October 2013):

Honeypie agony auntNot to hurt your feelings but there is no such thing as a pretty penis.

No, girls won't be upset or find it extraordinary ugly.

If they love you, they won't give a flying fart about what your penis looks like AT ALL.
