Fairy_Lu agony auntAs a beautician i would defiently recomned you wax instead its quick and it lasts for ages and your less likely to get ingrowing hairs, and if your to shy to go to a salon you can always get wax from a shop just make sure it says it can be used for a bikini line, but if you really dont want to wax just remember to moisturise after and that should help the rash from shaing to go

if its your first time shaving, your going to be a soft as a baby;s butt..Its after a few days when it becomes annoying, cause the hair grows back in, Don't shave it everyday, wait 3 or 4 days inbetween.. For a clean shave go against the hair, and as for your labia, be very careful, go from side to side, After a while your skin will toughin up and u will be able to shave very fast and not have any bumps at all. Waxing IS the best way to go, but if you want to shave..Just becareful. Never shave in the tub, your leaving yourself open to bladder infections, sit on the side of the tub, which is much easier.

A female reader, O Connor Ireland +, writes (24 September 2007):

O Connor agony aunti wouldnt advise shaving as this can cause a rash and itchiness which makes the skin worse. You also may have sensitive skin which reacts differently to shaving and cream. I would advise you to go to a good, recommended salon with an experienced employee and get a test done first. Waxing is the safest and most efficient way of hair removal, and even though it can be painful, the hair doesnt grow back for a few weeks, and the wax and soothing cream is catered for sensitive skin. Its quite cheap and worth it. you can use hair removal cream also but some people can have a reaction to these. make sure you wash and exfoliate before you try these methods. if you want more advice on anything i.e. different wax methods email me good luck hun xxx

A female reader, AngelofLove United Kingdom +, writes (23 September 2007):

AngelofLove agony auntShaving pubic hair often causes a rash and uncomfortable when growing back.

Waxing is effective, lasts couple weeks but is painful.

There are very good hair removal creams in pharmacies and superstores.

Exfoliate before hand, use the cream and your bikini area is smooth. which only takes a few minutes, wash cream off (do not use soap only warm water to avoid possible reaction as most soap have ingredients that do not go well with the cream).

You could try this a couple days before seeing your boyfriend to make sure that you have used best method that works for you. It will reduce the pressure on any anxiety hopefully.

Good luck
