writes:Hi everyone. I broke up with my boyfriend and at the end of November. He was kind of rude to me at a party I saw him at. I asked him if I had done something to make him mad and he said I had not but he was bummed out about something else. We have exchanged a couple of polite emails since then and I emailed him with a question a week ago and he has not yet responded. We are definitely through but would like to continue as friends but not sure if that is what he wants. I guess I would accept it if he did not want this. I am thinking that the fact he has not emailed back is his way of saying that there are no hard feelings but he wants us both to move on. Does anyone have any thoughts on his behaviour?

reader, anonymous, writes (28 January 2008): It is all over so why are you even bothered? Just walk on and make a new life for yourself and forget all about him. The fact that he is acting like this means that he doesnt want to keep in touch. So dont.

 His non reply could mean that it is over and there was no necessity to reply since you are just friends only. Move on.
