Hon, best suggestion is to visit a gynae and let them take hormonal tests to see just what your hormones are doing. There are a lot of different options available, I am sure your gynae will be able to assist you with a suitable choice.

Second: you don't mention which contraceptives you've tried that make you feel awful. There are so many different types of Pill (including the 28-day pill, and the 21-day pill with a 7-day break). All will have varying levels of different hormones and each will affect you differently, so it's worth speaking to your doctor. Explain to them the problems you've been having and that you'd like to try out a few different ones.
If it helps, I had terrible trouble with the Pill and am now on Mercilon, a low-oestrogen brand.
When I was in school, a girl with acne was put on Dianette, a brand of Pill designed to help with acne. I'm not sure if it's still around - but ask!
If its the synthetic hormones that are ruining you, you could always try the coil (the copper one, not the hormonal one). I'm looking into it myself, as once its fitted you can forget about it.
Hope this helps!
