i need help

ive worked with this guy for nearly a year and we've got on so well. i helped him through a bad personal time and have always been there for him. i came out of an awful relationship last year and am quite sensitive still but tonight me and my friend were talking-hes since got his confidence back. i dont know what i was thinking but i really like him and we were talking about looks and i asked what he thought of me and he said "youre ok i wouldnt say stunning or anything. i dont know why but i was so embarrassed we parted company quietly. am i wrong to be distraught ? we've had a few misunderstandingd before-hes very blunt but i thought this unecessary do you think i was too sensitive ? anyway its caused an atmosphere now what should i do im so upset
