hey! okay so this is the setting: i am a freshman girl, and i know a boy who is in 8th grade. i think he likes me, but im not very sure. he added me as a friend on facebook, and has commented on almost every status i set. he talks to me thru inbox and chat almost every day and says that im "really pretty and funny." he also mentioned that he loved talking to me. One night he said "i really like you." i wasn't sure what he meant, so i replied "as a friend, right?" he hesitated, then said "yeah...haha" i dont know if he likes me or what... Am I just seeing what I want to see?

A female reader, valentine86 United States +, writes (17 October 2010):

it seems pretty obvious that he is going out of his way to make it clear to you that he is interested. he said he like you as a friend bc he was nervous you didn't feel the same way as him in return. continue to talk with him, slowly compliment him more often. if you both have a similar interest or mutual friends, suggest getting together at some point in a casual setting. rejection is scary for anyone, but especially at your age. no one likes to be rejected. i think if you both continue on the path you are on, eventually you'll arrive at the same point.
