These are the things that help me to feel more confident-

1. When you are talking to people or before you do, smile. Smiling before and during the conversation (if appropriate, you don't want to look crazy) will make you feel happier and more comfortable. And if the person you are talking to sees that you are happy to be talking to them, they will be more friendly and approachable too.

2. Positive self-talk. This is good for some people more than others but you should give it a try. It doesn't have to be verbal, you can just say it in your head. Things like 'I'm feeling good today' 'I did really well with that' 'I look good today' 'I can do this' 'I can be confident and people like me, I'm a nice, friendly person' before you go out or before you speak to people, or after you do well in something (even if you have a conversation that you felt confident in, praise yourself) then it will make you feel better and more confident after a while and any insecurities you feel when you are shy will be overshadowed by your positive attitude.

3. A good way to get confident is practice. This is the same for pretty much everything, if you practice at anything, eventually you will be good at it and you'll be confident with your ability to do it. Usually, with shyness, this doesn't happen because you are scared to go out and practice because you are shy but you just have to bite the bullet and get out there. You can't start small, smiling at people, or starting small talk with people you don't usually talk to (this is sometimes good if you pracice on strangers, say you and a friend go to a bar or some other social place and just start a conversation with them, it can be about anything, even the weather!!) the more you practice talking to people, the better you will get and the more comfortable you will feel.

Please try these things, message me and let me know how you're getting on! It will get easier I promise.
