Aside from looking pretty geeky, he's actually kinda cute.Today, my teacher in my last class let my class out early so I was walking around the school looking for things to do. I went into the cafeteria and the guy from my chemistry class was in there at a table on the far side looking at a book or something. I went to look at the vending machines so I turned my back on him for like a minute. And then I decided not to buy anything so I turned around to leave, and then when I turned around I saw that he had MOVED to another table (closer to where I was standing, and I hadn't even heard him move AT ALL, and aside from us the cafeteria was like dead empty) and was STARING at me. He didn't even look away when I made eye contact with him.So I was kinda startled and looked away and left. And now I'm sort of weirded out.Does he like me? I mean what he did was kinda strange but I can't judge too harshly 'cause I've done some pretty weird things to people I've liked too.Or is he just a strange person...? He's not mental or anything 'cause I've seen him make conversation with friends and he's one of the smartest people in my class. Thanks!!

Well for one thing he's clearly a ninja since you didn't notice him moving in the cafeteria - okay I'm kidding. But you never know.
Seriously though, it seems like this cute geek is trying to just get your attention. Geeks are a virtually untapped subset of the high school boy spectrum in some cases, and they can be some of the sweetest and most caring guys! Based on the fact that you can see that he isn't super-quiet all the time, I'd say he's in the middle of a little confidence-boosted phase. He's certainly noticed you, and maybe him not breaking eye contact is just his way of saying "I want you to see that I don't want to back down so you'll notice me too".
Who knows! or maybe, you know, he's a ninja. But I'd say he's playing the attention-grabbing card :)

Maybe he has a crush on you who knows it is really hard to tell because this is the first time he has showing any interaction with you. Maybe he was just fooling around to have a laugh. But yes it does sound like he was trying to get your attention. If you are interested talk to him and try and get to know him. It might just be a case that he is new and he wants to make some new friends.
