writes: A question for women. I have heard in a recent talk show a woman say to the host that she had taken testosterone as part of a treatment she was undergoing and under the influence of testosterone she said she was shocked how her sex drive and desires shot straight up. She described it as being something out of her control and difficult to shut off! Yes, that’s exactly what its like for us men….its just difficult to shut off! She said she clearly understood how men act the way they do because of the high testosterone men have. Are there any woman who can attest to this same effect of testosterone on you, and can you please explain to other women about it so they can understand us men more? And why can’t all women get a shot of testosterone just once in their lives so they can understand us more?

Two large studies presented at scientific meetings this year show the testosterone patch Intrinsa, made by Procter & Gamble, can increase sexual activity in 50% to 70% of women.
The participants, though, only include a select group of women with HSDD. (no ovaries)
Too much testosterone in women could have masculinizing effects, such as hoarseness or deepening of the voice, unnatural hair growth or loss, acne or oily skin, decreased breast size, increase in the size of female genitals, and irregular menstrual cycles.
