I kind of agree with flowergirl here. Get tested and find out for sure. It'll set your mind at rest rather then us all making a guess for you :)

i think you will be ok - excess bleeding is normal and your period is not always going to be exactly on the clock. if you are very concerned then get tested and put your mind at ease i know how much of a weight a situation like this can put on your shoulders and to completely put your mind at ease then you should get a test. hope all works out hun take care x

It's going to be impossible for any of us to answer that question for you babe so your best bet would be to visit your gp and have a test done that way you will know for sure.
Take care.xx.

reader, anonymous, writes (12 July 2007): im in my first year training to be a midwife so i have a bit of knowledge. As you know you can get pregnant from unprotected sex, even if they guy doesnt ejaculate they still lose sperm during sexual intercourse and this could make you pregnant! some people continue to have periods throughout their pregnancy although this is rare. The best thing i can suggest is to wait and see if your next period arrives, if it doesnt take a pregnancy test! if it does come but your still worried then take a test. this will give you the proof you need.
In regards to your period, sometimes a period will last longer and this doesnt mean you are pregnant and the dark blood just means that it is old blood, should be nothing to worry about.
As a healthcare professional i feel a responsibility to remind you that safe sex is the best option to prevent infection and unwanted pregnancys!
so dont worry about the extra bleeding-its normal. if it changes or you become concerned then consult your doctor. Wait for another period and take a test if you feel you need to!
Good luck-i hope my advice helps!
xx
