Is the Site broken?

shrodingerscatshrodingerscat, posted over a year ago

I have not been able to click on the text box to answer any questions in almost a week. I've tried logging out and logging back in, restarting my computer thinking it may have been a problem on my end, but I still can't use the text box to answer any questions, no matter what I've tried.

Can someone let me know if the site's having technical problems, or if I've been banned from answering questions or something?

I can only do it in internet explorer not in Firefox.... I think they may have changed the code since there is a Java 7 problem and folks think it applies to 6 too.

I'll log in with Internet Explorer and see if that resolves it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Your account has not been closed, and there is no problem as far as I'm aware with the site in terms of answering questions (we are still getting plenty through from other users) so it may well be a problem on your end I'm afraid.

K_C_100... .do you know if they did a code upgrade or changed Java or something due to the security holes?

I thought my firefox issue was just work related but I can't answer questions on firefox at home either. I Had this problem once before too.

I know that there are some problems with Java and Internet Explorer now concerning security holes...

for now I read in Firefox and when I find a question I want to answer I use IE but that's a real pain.

Is there a way to check with the owner to see if they did a site update/upgrade and find out what was changed? Do they only test in IE or do they test the other web browsers as well?

I've sent a message asking Andrew (DearCupid) to take a look at this issue. Thanks!
