Ok. This thread is about cravings. Whenever you have a craving, regardless of what it is, bump this thread.

Right now I am craving a Frozen Strawberry Magarita and a pile of ground beef nachos!

Bahahaha, you should see what I PMed you before skipping over to this forum.

I'm going to get particular..

From Buffalo Wild Wings, I want an appetizer of fried pickles, buffalo chicken nachos, and an 8 piece mild boneless buffalo wings with ranch. To drink a Corona light with a lime.

The buffalo nachos are tortilla chips with shredded buffalo chicken, shredded cheeses, green onions, bacon, and ranch. I've only eaten these at a TN BWW..haven't been able to get them in the Midwest. They were amazing!!

I saw they were deep-frying butter at state fairs this year. That might be the ultimate indulgence: fat deep-fried in more fat.

Tofu isn't on my go-to list either.

I am into cocoa roasted almonds right now. And mocha drinks from coffee shops.

If you like things battered and fried you should go to Scotland :)

They will deep-fry anything there! Including mars bars.....

Unfortunately I'd have to be able to time travel to satisfy this craving. There was a little one-man operation in Vancouver (on Robson Street, if memory serves) in the 70s that sold the best roast beef sandwiches. He'd slow-roast a hip and carve it right on to a fresh-baked bun and sprinkle a bit of the best jus you ever had. Haven't found anything close in the intervening 30+ years.

BWW's fried pickles are corn meal battered, instead of the usual beer batter fried. Very delicious!

At the state fair this year I had a deep fried brownie. It was very tasty. However, I skipped the fried Kool-Aid balls; people kept on saying the vendors burnt them.

Oooh, I sure could go for a proper Italian beef sandwich.

A nice beef sandwich. Yum. Followed by a cupcake. With icing. A nutritionist would no doubt scream, but this is about cravings, right?

Carrot cake. Apple pie with lots of cinnamon. Brownies! Deep-fried or regular.

Not sure the Kool-Aid balls would be all that appealing.

In college I lived on cheese steak sandwiches with provolone cheese followed by Ringdings. I think having that flavor combo again would bring me back!

Fried Kool-Aid Balls? Really? I'm picturing some Kool-Aid powder with just enough water to make a paste then battered and deep fried.... Never heard of that....

Still want my Strawberry Magarita and ground beef nachos - Maybe This weekend! I could also go for some warm apple pie and vanilla ice cream...

Apparently it's done with a doughnut batter just like the brownies were. It's supposedly over a 1,000 calories, but who's counting calories that day?

I believe I'm going to satisfy one of my cravings and go to BWW today. The Italian beef we will have to wait till I visit my family in Chicago. Then I'll want a Chicago dog and Chicago style pizza. Mmmm.

Maybe I can close my eyes and pretend my greek yogurt is a nice tasty Chicago dog. Hahaha.

Life is just too short for those low-cal, low-fat alternatives (or tofu)! I say commit the sins, then earn redemption by running round the block!

Although admittedly a fry alternative I really love is yam fries! But then again there's those times when only greasy fries will do (sadly there's a fish and chip restaurant, walking distance from my house - the only restaurant in the village)...and some days it just feels sooo good to be bad!

Don't get me wrong my dear Ampersand, I'm all for greasy, yummy food. But I'm trying out this endometriosis diet, out of sheer desperation.

I would love some proper fish and chips. Mmmmm.

Even some good takeaway Chinese food. They're all crap where we live.

Actually, I shouldn't right off tofu completely, I do like it in miso soup - mmmm, I could go for some of that right about now! Or a teriyaki stir-fry...surprisingly the sauce is incredibly easy to make (just a bit of soy-sauce, honey, ginger & garlic).

Tennisstar, if you ever need some healthy (but tasty) vegetarian recipes, lemme know. Good for you though - *fingers crossed*! I'll be doing another kidney cleanse soon, so I'll be avoiding this thread like the plague!

Oh yes Ampersand, I will definitely need some tasty vegan recipes as I'm at a loss of what to eat. I can still eat turkey, chicken, and fish, so it's not completely vegan.

I like tofu molded into pasty dips. Have yet to try it as a meat substitute though. DH might not be too keen on that.

I could go for a tasty Polish sausage today.

Hockey Season OFFICIALLY starts up in October- September games are for warm up and finalizing deals/contracts between players and associations.

Its easier to explain WHILE at a live game and much more fun live. By far.

Detroits are a very kick butt team btw. ;)

April usually when play offs are and season ends.

So its getting pretty interesting about now.

but it was delicious and I'm glad we went. My next craving is the local Mexican restaurant.

We went to a ski resort overnight on Thursday (we had to come back home on Friday evening) and there was a drink at the bar called an Almond Joy. We jotted down the ingredients and made them tonight. Damn fine winter drink! We didn't know the proportions, so we experimented and we think we managed to duplicate it!

Ingredients:

Hot Chocolate, 1 shot Coconut Vodka, 1/2 shot Creme de Cocoa, 1/2 shot Creme de Almond, all in a regular sized mug topped with Cool Whip.

If you like the Almond Joy candy bar, you will love this drink!
