My biggest influence...my Dad's 2nd wife! She married my Dad when I was 11. She raised me thru some tough years and even though she didn't birth me..she was my 'true, emotional" Mother. An amazing gracious, warm person! She's gone now and a day doesn't go by where I don't think of her and smile.

Influence? Can't pick one but can give a greatest hits.

- My marriage. Now ended. Sometimes learning 'how not to do it' can be the best way to learn how to do it

- My alexander technique teacher. An amazing woman, my 'guru' I guess. I studied for three years and it changed me spiritually

- Frank Zappa, my idol! For always being prepared to be unpopular and do the 'uncool thing'. The ultimate anti-peer group pressure person

Frank Zappa - Wonderful - 'Hot Rats'!!

My influence - Van Morrisson - a great musician, songwriter and philosopher who made it and kept it real notwithstanding all the conflict in life. Despite not being a 'pretty boy' and shunning all the celebrity interviewss and other stuff, just doing his own thing, being himself, and diversifying.

Also, Joni Mitchell who, after seeing her biography on television I realised why I was so drawn to her music and the words in her songs.. Her life has mirrored mine in so many ways.

These two musicians have given me strength and courage, and along with Paul Brady - (a newer influence) - have seen me through many of the lower troughs in my life.

Isn't it amazing how muscians influence us so much?

Mine - Bob Marley. No need to elaborate there! Everything he ever did in his life and tried to do is truely beyond words. I mean who can argue with "the road of life is rocky & you may stumble too so while you point your fingers someone else is judging you, love your brotherman!' YEAAAAHHH! Come back for one more concert pllleeasseee! :o)

Another big influence....W.H. Fox Talbot - basically the inventer of photography. His quote...

"The most transitory of things, a shadow, the proverbial emblem of all that is fleeting and momentary may be fettered by the spells of our 'natural magic' and fixed forever in the position it seemed only destined for a single instant to occupy."

Inspiring stuff - I also like Sam Walton's quote:

"Break all the rules. Swim upstream. Go the other way. Ignore the conventional wisdom. If everybody else is doing it one way, there's a good chance you will find your niche in exactly the opposite direction"
