Testimonials

, posted over a year ago

Another user mentioned this a while ago, and I thinkt he follow ups were kind of 'nicknamed' testimonials, but I feel like it needs it's proper own page. A page where people can give feedback on how this site has helped them, and that they have now overcome their problem with(or without perhaps) the advice that was given to them on here. I see it often on sites where there's a paragraph or 2 of a user saying how that site has helped them in some way, and I think it would be good if DC had one too. What do you think people?

Lol, well I was going to, but I have already asked him something else earlier which he hasn't replied to...yet anyway. So best not. Hope he reads this though and takes it into consideration.

i agree also. I know that i am pretty new hereand my opinion is not that important but I think that it is a very helpful site. Even with its little flaws...it is by far the best that i've seen. You guys give some great well thought out advice...sometimes i just kind of sit there and think, wow! why didnt i think of that? :)

You're opinion is just as much valued as a user who has been here from the start! Or at least it should be anyway. Also I agree, I sometimes have those 'wow why didn't I think of that?' moments.

Yeah, but if they are too lazy to write a follow-up I'm thinking they are too lazy write a thesis.

Well, that only applies to some of the people here. I'm sure out of the hundreds of questions that gets asked each day, and with the amount of problems that gets resolved, I think more than a few would be willing to write a small testimonial for us. I'm hoping, anyway!

Maybe there should be a trial run for it, say set the page up for a month, provide a link for people to post, and if gets a good response, keep it. If not many people or none at all write in then drop the page.

People tend to testify when they have strong emotions about their experience.

If you were to have a testimonial page, you would get negative feedback as well. I think that negative posters are more motivated than positive ones. They desire revenge.

I think we would need 2 testimonial pages, 1 for DC and then another for Q! On the Q page, he gets a chance to hammer any testimonial. Now that would be some good reading!
