Just an idea I saw at another site that is NOT Facebook. How about a wall that members can post on other members' profile? Members can change it between Private and 'Public'. Private for mutual friends and Public for all members. Maybe you can make it so the "Public" setting is by minimum post count - eg: Minimum Answers: 10, 20, etc - set through a form box by entering digits or a drop down with presets. Works in conjunction with the Block feature for mail.
