Hate Mail

, posted over a year ago

Just curious if any other Aunt or Uncle gets hate mail or snarky emails from Users whom chose to hide their identity?

If there's a blank box where the person's avatar should be in your mailbox, the user created an account and then deleted it. Pretty snarky. It happens from time to time, it's pretty pathetic but then, it's the internet. If they don't have the courage to read a reply from you, just hit delete and don't even bother to read it!

I had a laugh over it. I imagine it someone I offended by just sharing my insight when it is in an open forum for anyone on the net to have at. And a poster or fellow reader just had enough.

It was odd that the only complaint was that I suffer some mental disorder/disease because I use ALL CAPS in my POSTS from TIME to TIME.

:P

Well Lo and Behold the anon has sent another email calling me a cock eyed bitch.

How is there not a program that can enforce a user keep their account for 24 hours so such abusive/hate mails can be traced?

Then an IP addy and email can also be traced so in the future, such incidents can be forwarded to Internet Police of any Country?

Just a thought. ;)

Definitely just delete, then, laugh it off as they are chicken snarks, a very rarely seen breed. For obvious reasons.

The Only concern is that if this is an online bully and if he/she is targeting others, especially those that come to this site for help- may also be targeting for hate and abuse.

Its something I can 'put up with' but what of those already being abused? They become easy targets to the sadistic.

A concern that should be brought to light so others don't feel isolated from online harrassment/bullying/stalking.

There is a 'spam' button there, in the mail inbox. Please do report any and all such harassing messages.

Good point about the vulnerable. I do hope they would message one of the active and longtime aunts if this becomes a concern for them.

Alas, we can't force people to keep accounts here, as there needs to be a quick exit way for an abused person to delete the account if an abuser gets suspicious. Something trolls and bullies no doubt take advantage of.

Sad I have to put up with being bullied by anons but whatever. I guess I have that much of a stunning personality that it offends those who are insecure and happy.

Seriously.

That Spam dont do crap. ;)

I'm hoping eventually, like a fortune cookie, my daily emails will eventually reveal to me the winning loto numbers and I will get to daily roll around in big piles of money.

Thats how it all works out, right? :P

So current SPAM reveals that a Senior Mod is reading my PMs- invasion of privacy and is aware I am not being bullied.

harassed, yes but not bullied.

so makes you wonder about the integrity of this site and its Senior Mods.

;)

That's very confusing. I've sent you a PM and suggest you message DearCupid with your concerns.

As far as I know, no mods, senior or otherwise, can read PMs (unless they are in their own mailbox).

Good luck.

Thanks for the PM. I hope what you say is true.

Just really odd that someone has to go out of there way to PM such BS.

I imagine Andrew could though if he wanted and maybe that was what spammer was infering. Definitely someone is unhappy and trying to stir up contention for sure.

Thanks for the heads up Tisha

It has been brought to site admin's attention that individuals are sending "anon" private messages (PMs); this done by creating an account, sending a message, then deleting the account.

Such bullying/troll-type messages should be reported as "spam" using the link provided in the message. Site admin recommends deleting such messages without reading them if possible.

Bullies/trolls are not welcome at DearCupid. Please read the posting guidelines here: http://www.dearcupid.org/pages/answer-guidelines.html
