Well, it's an evening 'star' - in the south-west rather than the east and it's really a planet - but has anyone else seen how bright Venus is at the moment? I'm not sure if it can be seen from the southern hemisphere, but it's extremely bright in the northern one.
I wonder if it's the same 'star' that the three wise men followed?
As the sun fades, just look about 25 degrees up from the horizon towards the southwest, just above where the sun went down, and you can hardly miss it. It doesn't 'twinkle' like a star but maintains a regular brightness.
It must be getting near to Christmas. Peace on earth, people!
